Vehicle Registration Renewals FAQ's

You may renew the registration of your vehicle, boat, trailer and ATV in the City Clerk’s office.

  • The renewal form from the State of Vermont Department of Motor vehicles is required to process.
  • Check or money order made payable to the Department of Motor Vehicles for the exact amount of the registration.
  • A separate fee of $3.00 is also required to be paid to the City for processing and can be paid via cash, check, debit or credit card.
  • Stickers are no longer issued per the Department of Motor Vehicles
  • The Temporary registration is valid for 60 days from date of issuance and should be kept in your vehicle until the permanent registration is received in the mail from the Department of Motor Vehicles.
  • Temporary registrations is valid for a vehicle inspection. 
  • Registrations that have expired 2 months or more MUST be processed with the DMV only, not at the Clerk's office.
