Proposed Amendments to City Plan

The St. Albans City Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to consider amendments to the 2026 Municipal Development Plan, pursuant to 24 V.S.A. Sec. 4384.  The purpose of the hearing is to review the proposed plan and take public comment.

After the public hearing, the Planning Commission may hold a vote on approval of the amendments, as edited, and on submission to the St. Albans City Council for consideration for adoption.

The purpose of the plan is to further the statutory goals of 24 V.S.A. § 4302, address the elements of 24 V.S.A. § 4382 and to provide the basis for land use regulation and other municipal activities.  The goals, policies and actions proposed in the plan would affect the entire City of St. Albans and environs. The chapters in the plan are titled Our City Plan, Downtown St. Albans, Our Neighborhoods, Housing, The Local Economy and Development Activities, Wellness and Prosperity, City Operations and Infrastructure, Community Resilience, Land Use, and Our Role in the Region.
