Position Summary

The Franklin Grand Isle Restorative Justice Center is seeking a motivated and well-organized Pre-Charge Case Manager to lead our pre-charge program, funded through the Attorney General’s Office. This program offers a timely, community-based alternative to the juvenile and criminal justice systems for eligible offenses through restorative practices by promoting accountability and positive outcomes without formal prosecution.

The ideal candidate is deeply committed to restorative justice principles, communicates effectively, and can manage cases from referral through resolution. This role involves direct collaboration with law enforcement, prosecutors, victims, and responsible parties to facilitate restorative processes that are victim-centered, inclusive, and constructive.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Manage Pre-Charge referrals in collaboration with local law enforcement.

·        Build and maintain relationships with law enforcement, prosecutors, community agencies, and to promote program awareness and referral pathways.

·        Conduct intake interviews, assess participants for needed support services, and maintain regular communication to support contract completion.

·        Coordinate and facilitate restorative justice panels, circles, and alternative processes ensuring meetings are inclusive, respectful, and non-punitive.

·        Prepare and distribute case packets for volunteers, recruit and train new volunteers, and maintain volunteer engagement.

·        Monitor case progress, maintain accurate participant records, and submit timely updates to referring agencies.

·        Develop individualized restorative agreements that support accountability and repair harm between participants, victims, and the community.

·        Ensure adherence to eligibility criteria for referral and non-acceptance, including participant voluntariness, offense type, and victim safety considerations.

·        Collect, enter, and report data in compliance with grant and agency requirements.

·        Attend relevant trainings to enhance professional skills and program delivery.

·        Perform other duties as assigned to support FGIRJC’s mission and community impact.

 

Qualifications

·        Experience in human services, program development, case management, criminal justice, social work, or a related field preferred.

·        Familiarity with restorative justice principles, the criminal justice system, and court processes preferred.

·        Strong skills in mediation, facilitation, and conflict resolution.

·        Excellent communication, organizational, time management and record-keeping abilities.

·        Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

·        Capable of working independently while also contributing to a collaborative team environment.

·        Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
