City of St. Albans - Notice of Board Vacancies

There is a lot happening in the City of St. Albans.  Be a part of it!  We are looking for candidates for upcoming vacancies on two important local volunteer boards.

The Development Review Board (DRB) meets to consider land use permits and appeals in accordance with our Land Development Regulations.  The members of the DRB are a key component in ensuring that our City’s land use plans and visions are implemented correctly.  The DRB meets regularly every first Monday at 6:30 PM in City Hall.  No other board has a more direct effect on development projects in the City.

The Downtown Board advises the City Downtown Program and works with City Staff to promote the downtown, organize events, and develop strategies for economic development such as filling empty storefronts.  Members also act as the Board of Directors for the downtown non-profit St. Albans for the Future.  Anyone enthusiastic about the promotion, design, organization and revitalization of Downtown St. Albans should consider membership.  The Downtown Board meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:00 PM in City Hall.

There are also opportunities available to participate on our Design Advisory Board and Planning Commission.  More information can be found at www.StAlbansVT.com/Boards.

Members of these boards are appointed by the St. Albans City Council.  If you are interested in being appointed, please contact Chip Sawyer, Director of Planning & Development, 802-524-1500 *259, c.sawyer@stalbansvt.com by November 13, 2017.
