PERMITTING TIP: Design Is In Our Name
Planning some work on your property this spring? Make sure you don't need permission from the City's Design Advisory Board (DAB) first! The DAB has the responsibility of preserving the aesthetics and historical resources of key areas of our city. They ensure that projects are sensitive to context and architecture within the Design Review Districts. Their charter is to create and maintain a strong community image and identity and to enhance the visitor experience, the attractiveness of the streetscape and the existing look and feel of the community. If your property is located in Downtown St. Albans, North or South Main St., or certain portions of Lake St., Federal St, or Lower Newton St., then you are in a Design Review District. If you are looking to make exterior changes, the DAB is your first stop. Not sure? We can help – stop by or give us a call (802) 524-1500 ext. 262. City of St. Albans.
