Statement on Attack in Buffalo, NY

In the wake of the senseless violence that took place in Buffalo, NY on May 14, the City of St. Albans condemns this incident. Americans were hunted and killed, based solely on their race, by a complete stranger in a premeditated attack. This is the essence of domestic terrorism and highlights the importance of the City’s continuing efforts at belonging, equity, and inclusion. May we continue to make progress towards the vision of a City where all feel welcome and safe including BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and other historically marginalized communities.
