Water Situation Update
Water Break(s) Situation Report:
St. Albans Public Works Personnel worked through the night, and repaired the largest of the two water main breaks (Barlow and Stevens Brook). As of 7:00 a.m. this morning water has been restored to all residents except those on the east side of Thorpe Avenue. Water pressure at NMC is at 33.7 psi and it is rising. Allen Robtoy reports that if they encounter no further complications they should have the second repair Upper Welden and Thorpe Ave.) done by noon, or early afternoon. The water tower tank was completely empty by 9:00 p.m. last night, but at this writing is at 2'.
It is anticipated that a water sample will be transported to the State Health Lab this morning (approximately 9:00 a.m.) for testing and if things go as expected the boil water order could be rescinded by mid-day Thursday (02-26-14).
