Get on Board! - Design Advisory Board
The St. Albans City Council is seeking community members interested in sitting on the Design Advisory Board (DAB). As one of the City’s volunteer boards, the DAB plays an important role in the permitting process and provides special opinions on the architecture and aesthetics of proposed development in the City's Design Review Districts. This board advises the Zoning Administrator and Development Review Board. City residency is not required.
The City Council is looking for candidates familiar with the challenges of pursuing redevelopment in a dense urban area while maintaining historic character - anyone with interest and experience in architecture, building trades, design, or historic preservation. The DAB currently meets on 4th Mondays at 6:30 pm at City Hall. During these meetings, DAB members hear proposals from permit applicants and provide recommendations in a collaborative atmosphere.
A full description of the board and the duties of its members is available at www.stalbansvt.com/boards. For more information about serving on this board, please contact Chip Sawyer, Director of Planning & Development, at 802-524-1500 ext. *259, c.sawyer@stalbansvt.com by March 19, 2021.
