Public Hearing Notice - February 22, 2021

The City of St. Albans is considering making an application to the State of Vermont for an Implementation Grant under the Vermont Community Development Program.  A public hearing will be held at 6:30 PM on February 22, 2021, via remote connection, link provided at www.stalbansvt.com/council, to obtain the views of citizens on community development, to furnish information concerning the amount of funds available and the range of community development activities that may be undertaken under this program, the impact to any historic and archaeological resources that may be affected by the proposed project, and to give affected citizens the opportunity to examine the proposed statement of projected use of these funds.

The proposal is to apply for up to $500,000 in VCDP Funds, which will be subgranted to Champlain Housing Trust and used to provide low-income households facing economic hardship and an inability to pay housing related costs due to the COVD-19 pandemic with mortgage assistance and/or rental assistance, housing-related financial counseling, and some limited housing rehabilitation for COVID related housing projects for eligible homeowners and renters.  The program area will be primarily Chittenden, Grand Isle and Franklin Counties.
