GET ON BOARD with the City of St. Albans!

There is a lot happening in the City.  Be a part of it!  We are looking for candidates for upcoming vacancies on three important volunteer boards.

The Development Review Board, meets to consider proposed construction and development projects in accordance with the City’s land use rules.  This board is a key component in implementing our City’s vision for the future.  The DRB meets regularly every first Monday at 6:30pm.  Whether it is for the location of a new business or the redevelopment of an entire block, no other board has a more direct effect on development projects in the City than the DRB!

The Downtown Board advises the City Downtown Program and works with City Staff to promote the downtown, organize events, and develop strategies for economic development such as filling empty storefronts.  Members also act as the Board of Directors for the downtown non-profit St. Albans For the Future.  The Downtown Board meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:00 PM.  Anyone enthusiastic about the promotion, design, organization and revitalization of Downtown St. Albans should consider membership!

The Planning Commission advises our planning program, discusses new initiatives for growth and development in the City and drafts the City Plan and Land Development Regulations.  The Planning Commission meets regularly every third Monday at 5:30 PM.  No other local board has more of an effect on long-term planning and projects in our community!

More information is available at our Board Openings page.
