Information for those looking to help.
A great many people in our community are wondering how they can help neighbors and others in sudden need during the COVID-19 pandemic. One suggestion is to start with the organizations that do this type of work 24/7 and know where the needs are developing as time goes on. Organizations that could use volunteers and contributions include:
Age Well, which does Meals on Wheels, at 1-800-642-5119.
Martha's Community Kitchen (the local soup kitchen) at 524-9749.
Northwest Family Foods (the local food shelf) at 527-7392.
Samaritan House (the local homeless shelter) 527-0847 and hannah.rose@samaritan-house.com.
Those in need should also contact these organizations. Those with needs who do not know where to turn should also call 211 for information and advice.
