Get on Board with the City of St. Albans!
There is a lot happening in the City. Be a part of it! We are looking for candidates for upcoming vacancies on four important volunteer boards.
The Belonging, Equity & Inclusion Committee was created to advise City staff and the City Council; identify projects and initiatives that could advance the values of belonging, equity and inclusion; facilitate the engagement of groups that have not traditionally participated in City government; and more. More information on the committee and its goals and values can be found at www.stalbansvt.com/bei.
The Development Review Board meets to consider proposed construction and development projects in accordance with the City’s land use rules. This board is a key component in implementing our City’s vision for the future. Whether it is for the location of a new business or the redevelopment of an entire block, no other board has a more direct effect on development projects in the City than the DRB! More information can be found at www.stalbansvt.com/drb.
The Downtown Board works with City staff and community partners to maintain and enhance Downtown St. Albans’ status as a center of commerce, culture and activity. Members also act as the Board of Directors for the downtown non-profit St. Albans For the Future. Anyone enthusiastic about the promotion, design, organization and revitalization of Downtown St. Albans should consider membership! More information can be found at www.stalbansvt.com/downtownboard.
The Planning Commission advises our planning program and drafts the City Plan and Land Development Regulations. No other local board has more of an effect on long-term planning and land use in our community! More information can be found at www.stalbansvt.com/pc.
