Board Opportunity - Climate & Energy Committee

The St. Albans Climate & Energy Advisory Committee is seeking community members interested in contributing to the important role that climate & energy initiatives play in our city’s quality of life.  The St. Albans City Climate & Energy Advisory Committee is a volunteer board that meets once a month with 7 voting members. There is currently one vacant seat for a voting member and the committee is also looking for additional non-voting volunteers to apply to participate and assist as needed.

The Climate & Energy Advisory Committee was formed with these initial goals and objectives:

  •          Develop an initial Climate Action Plan that proposes goals and strategies for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, increasing energy efficiency, and preparing for extreme weather.
  •          Submit the initial plan and subsequent updates and specific project proposals to the City Manager and City Council for consideration.
  •          Implement the Climate Action Plan through projects and initiatives such as grant seeking, public outreach, and collaboration with other stakeholders.
  •          Monitor and report on the progress of the Climate Action Plan.

The Climate & Energy Advisory Committee is a board of community volunteers staffed by City employees.
