Paperless Utility Billing

The City of St Albans is now offering to send utility bills electronically! You can register to have your Water and Sewer bills emailed to you by registering here. Please be mindful that only property owners can elect to enroll in paperless utility billing. If you are the owner of multiple properties, you will have to register each utility account to be enrolled in paperless billing, and bills will be emailed separately each billing period. Important Message from Public Works

The City would like to remind parents to not allow children to play in or around the snow banks on the streets or at the end of dead ends. The crews will be out moving banks and certainly don’t want anyone getting injured. Thank you for your continued co-operation as well as all the accolades our crew has received throughout the storm.

City Hall Closed: Monday, February 17th

City Hall will be closed all day on Monday, February 17, 2025, in observance of President's Day. Office hours will resume on Tuesday, February 18th. 

Christmas Tree Pick Up Reminder

The City Department of Public Works will pick up Christmas trees left at the curb/greenbelt within the City limits thru Jan. 15th. Please make sure the trees are free of tinsel, ornaments and free of any plastic bags.  Trees left out after the 15th of January will be the responsibility of the property owner to discard.

Fireworks Display Notice: Dec. 31

Please be aware that the City of St. Albans is planning a professional fireworks display in Taylor Park at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, December 31st. The fireworks will last around 30 minutes.

Winter Parking Ban Announcement

The Winter Parking Ban is designed to keep streets open, safe, and essential traffic moving during snow storms. Residents are discouraged from parking on the street during any snow storm and are encouraged to plan ahead for alternative off-street parkingParking is prohibited on any street in the residential areas between the hours of 10:00 pm. and 7:00 am. and in the downtown areas between the hours of 12:00 midnight and 6:00 am. This prohibition allows snow removal crews to effectively clear city streets of snow and restore them to operating efficiently. Vehicles parked on the street will be towed at the owner’s expense to an impound yard. Call Central Dispatch at 802-524-2166 to pay for and pick up your vehicle if it was towed while parked in violation of the winter parking ban. The Winter Parking Ban is in effect between Dec. 1 and March 15th, if your vehicle is on the street during a snow storm or snow removal event, your vehicle will be towed and ticketed at your expense. City Hall Thanksgiving Week Office Hours

City Hall will be closed all day on Thursday, November 28th and Friday, November 29th in observance of Thanksgiving.  Happy Thanksgiving!

LOWER NEWTON STREET CLOSURE

Lower Newton Street will be closed to through-traffic in the area of Federal Street and Main Street on Thursday Nov. 7 for paving.
