The City would like to remind parents to not allow children to play in or around the snow banks on the streets or at the end of dead ends. The crews will be out moving banks and certainly don’t want anyone getting injured. Thank you for your continued co-operation as well as all the accolades our crew has received throughout the storm.
The City Department of Public Works will pick up Christmas trees left at the curb/greenbelt within the City limits thru Jan. 15th. Please make sure the trees are free of tinsel, ornaments and free of any plastic bags. Trees left out after the 15th of January will be the responsibility of the property owner to discard.

The Winter Parking Ban is designed to keep streets open, safe, and essential traffic moving during snow storms. Residents are discouraged from parking on the street during any snow storm and are encouraged to plan ahead for alternative off-street parking. Parking is prohibited on any street in the residential areas between the hours of 10:00 pm. and 7:00 am.and in the downtown areas between the hours of 12:00 midnight and 6:00 am. This prohibition allows snow removal crews to effectively clear city streets of snow and restore them to operating efficiently. Vehicles parked on the street will be towed at the owner’s expense to an impound yard. Call Central Dispatch at 802-524-2166 to pay for and pick up your vehicle if it was towed while parked in violation of the winter parking ban. The Winter Parking Ban is in effect between Dec. 1 and March 15th, if your vehicle is on the street during a snow storm or snow removal event, your vehicle will be towed and ticketed at your expense. Feel free to call PW Director Marty Manahan at 802-309-1134 with any questions.
